Initial Engagement
This is where we get to know each other. We discuss what the end product(s) will be; we assess what services you're seeking (writing, editing*, and/or both), and we determine if we want to proceed.
This will usually take anywhere between 30 - 60 minutes.

Technical Writing Services

Creation and development of user manuals and other "from scratch" materials, including job aids, quick reference cards, or other written documentation.
​
NOTE: Software-related documentation requires I have access to a stand-alone copy of the product or access to a test (UAT) system in order to obtain screenshots.

$50/hr.
​Editing Services
(for technical or fiction)
Initial Assessment
You provide 5-10 pages of text (you decide how much you want to provide). Include an estimated length of the completed document (word count or pages) and we confirm what type of editing you're seeking from the engagement.

I review the text to get a sense of the writing style, the amount of effort that will be required, and if I think I can help. My assessment will include feedback on the content provided, as well as basic copyediting.

Copyediting
This service provides grammar, sentence structure, clarity improvements, and basic readability. Copy editing does not include changing the document, rather identifying things that can improve the work.

$30/hr

Developmental Editing
I can combine this service with copyediting. I'll make suggestions on how you can improve the work. This may include formatting, structure, and/or layout.

$35/hr (stand alone)
$40/hr (if combined with copyediting)
